why punta cana?
The Groom and Bride LOVE to travel. They always dreamed of having a destination wedding because it’s an opportunity to travel with their loved ones. Yessica was born in the Dominican Republic and getting married in her home country has sentimental significance to her. Andrew has visited DR and he fell in love with the country! They can’t wait to share the beauty that DR has to offer!
when should i arrive to punta cana?
You are welcome to stay for as long or as little as you would like. Many guests will be arriving before the wedding to enjoy the beautiful resort and beach. The bride and groom plan to arrive on Thursday, June 23, 2022, and check out on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
+1'S??
Please look at your Save the Date (Mailed) for whether or not you're allotted a +1. The general rule we try to abide by is, +1's are for those that are married, engaged, or are in a serious relationship.
DRESS CODE (FORMAL, BLACK TIE OPTIONAL)
For women this means:
A long dress, a dressy suit, or a formal cocktail-length dress
Heels are preferred
For men this means:
A tuxedo or formal suit (optional tie)
Grown man shoes
Need some ideas on formal, black tie optional? Check the Cosmo guide for women or the GQ guide for men.
do i need a passport?
YES!! Please check your passports and ensure that they don't expire at least 90 days to the wedding date of June 26, 2022.
Don't have a passport? Apply for one here (6 to 8 week turn around).
Need to renew yours? Check here. Need one in a hurry? You may need to attend your local passport office for a speedier turn around.
WHEN SHOULD I BOOK MY FLIGHT?
The cheapest flights are usually booked six (6) months in advance. We'll be tracking flight prices on Hopper and will be sending out monthly reminders - we recommend setting up your own notification as well.
We also recommend flying directly to Punta Cana. Flights are cheaper and options more numerous if you fly to Santo Domingo (the capital) but you'll have to endure a two to three hour ~$10 bus ride from Santo Domingo to Punta Cana.
HOW DO I GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE RESORT?
Round trip transportation from Punta Cana airport will be included when rooms are booked with the hotel wedding block. Sue will help you arrange the pick up and drop off times.
WHERE ARE WE STAYING?
We'll be staying at the Dream Onyx Punta Cana Resort. Located just 35 minutes from Punta Cana airport, the resort offers guest rest, relaxation, excitement, and adventure. There is truly something for everyone.
HOW DO I BOOK MY STAY?
Please book directly on our Destinationwedding.com page (Passcode is Coombswedding). Sue Allen has worked to get our guests the absolute best price and can answer all your questions. To reserve your spot you have to submit your $135/room deposit.
You can email Sue of Destinationweddings.com with any questions: sallen@destinationweddings.com or call her at 860-306-1136

I CAN'T MAKE IT, SORRY! WHAT DO I DO?
For those who are not able to join us, we completely understand and we are grateful for your love and support from a far. Please let us know in advance.
Your presence at our wedding is the best gift we could ask for. For those who have expressed interest in marking the occasion with a gift, we have set up a registry on Zola. www.zola.com/registry/yessicaandandrew2020
DO YOU HAVE A REGISTRY?
We request that all guests who are eligible be fully vaccinated prior to attending the wedding events. Dominican Republic has removed its COVID-19 pre-flight testing requirements and you no longer need to take a COVID-19 test prior to entering the country.
U.S. travel requirements require all international travelers, regardless of nationality or vaccination status, to be tested for the coronavirus within one day of global departure back to the United States. The resort provided COVID-19 testing for $35. Schedule your test upon arrival at the hotel.
If a guest receives a positive test while on property that prevents departure, the cost of quarantine at the property will be covered for up to 14 days after the original departure date.
WHAT ARE THE COVID-19 PROTOCOLS?
We request that our guests arrive on or before the afternoon of Saturday, June 25, so that you can participate in all the weekend events. On Saturday, June 25, we kick off the weekend festivities with an All-White Welcome Beach Party. Sunday, June 26, is the big day! On Monday, June 27, most guests are traveling back home. For those staying extra nights, you can wind down from the wedding with us on a Catamaran 4-hour Excursion (more details to come) or continue your vacation. Check out the Itinerary page for more information.
